The public company “Resavica” mines coal in nine mines in Serbia. The goal of the project is to improve the existing museum exhibition in the Senj Mine (Senjski Rudnik in Serbian) by reconstructing the entrance to the museum and restoring the former loading station to its original state from the 1900s using archive photos from the museum. The industrialisation of Serbia began in Senjski Rudnik a long time ago, in 1853. The mine of Senjski Rudnik is the only mine that has been in continuous operation for 170 years, and it has reached the end of its life. After the closure of the mine, the mining colony will be transformed into an ecomuseum which will showcase the way of life and work in the mining region. This will help to create new jobs in the tourism sector.
