The company “Mizan Line”, which manufactures underwear and nightwear, is replacing the use of fossil fuels at its plant in Sjenica with a solar power plant and a water-to-air heat pump. Two renewable energy sources enable sustainable business practises, which is very important for the Sjenica region, where the majority of workers are women. This will help to reduce the energy intensity of the economy and dependence on energy imports. As part of its corporate social responsibility, the company plans to make two vulnerable households more energy efficient by replacing joinery and furnaces with environmentally friendly appliances fuelled by firewood, thus helping to reduce energy poverty.
