The company “MELANGE” deals with the processing of eggs, which generates a large amount of shell waste. Eggshells are harmful solid organic waste which is usually accumulated without prior treatment. The research team from the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy is converting the shell waste into calcium oxide (CaO), which is to be used as a catalyst in the production of biodiesel from used cooking oil and bioethanol.
